Canby A. Alexander diary

Abstract This diary was started by Canby A. Alexander in January 1883, when he was 10 years old and living in Cecil County, Maryland. At 10, Alexander was no longer enrolled in school but instead was occupied with the family farm and the comings and goings of his extended family, neighbors and friends. The Alexanders may have been descendants of Robert Alexander, once a delegate to the Continental Congress, who later defected to the Royal Navy. His estate became the town of Elkton, Maryland. Carey, Niles, and Coxe Papers

Scope and Contents

Collection consists of ten holographic letters that exhibit the routine daily business of early American economists, Mathew Carey, Hezekiah Niles, and Tench Coxe. Carey's letters (1803-1827) address publication problems; Niles' letters (1821-1833) include comments on slavery, the tariff and an overdue bill; Coxe's letters (1796-1808) are concerned with his public duties in the Treasury Department.

Carl Alfred Jacobson (1876-1952) was a scientist and chief editor of The Encyclopedia of Chemical Reactions from 1946 to 1956. The collection consists of diaries dating from 1899 to 1947 and reprints of publications dating from 1908 to 1930. The diaries form the bulk of the collection.

Carl Brent Swisher papers

The correspondence deals largely with Swisher's professional projects; his work on the Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendall Holmes devise as well as the various books he authored. Carl Menger collection

Scope and Contents The collection of Austrian economist, Carl Menger (1840-1921), consists of over 200 photographs of European economists who were known to Menger during his lifetime. Many of the men in the photographs were students of Menger, and others were colleagues who had made significant contributions to the field of economics. Carlyle Barton Laboratory technical reports

The Carlyle Barton Laboratory was a semi-autonomous engineering laboratory (early 1950s to 1970), operating under contract for the United States Air Force, in collaboration with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University. The records include technical reports with unique identifiers in the form of report numbers given by the Laboratory. The reports were produced from 1954 to 1968.

Carol Lynn papers

Abstract

Carol Lynn (1893-1987, born Carol Lynn Fetser) was a dancer and educator who was the co-director with Ted Shawn of the Jacob's Pillow ballet school. Lynn taught privately in Baltimore in the 1920s and 1930s and directed the Peabody Preparatory Dance Department from 1947 until her retirement in 1970. The Carol Lynn papers contain Lynn's choreography with corresponding musical scores, a collection of her 16mm dance films, and photographs, programs, and other documents related to her career.

Carrie May Zintl papers

Abstract Dr. Carrie May Zintl was a Classicist, who after extensive study in Rome, Vienna, Leipzig and Munich, received her doctorate from Hopkins in 1929. Carrollton Viaduct clipping

Catalonian rent notebook

Charles Branch Wilson (1861–1941) was an American scientist, a marine biologist. He is known for his extensive work on copepods, minute crustaceans. The collection consists of sixteen notebooks compiled while Wilson was a graduate student at Johns Hopkins, 1894-1896. The notebooks contain lecture notes and laboratory drawings from classes in biology, botany, and physiology.
